3rd Trimester Here I Come!!!

Today I am 27 weeks along and that means the official start of my 3rd Trimester. I'm 2/3rds of the way done and before I know it the baby will be here. It's truly crazy how fast time flies.

I re-figured out how to use the timer on my camera and took this one myself. :)
Please ignore the poofy hair, I haven't had a chance to straighten it.
Also, please ignore the highwaters, they're supposed to be capris, but the people that I got my maternity clothes from have significantly longer legs than I do. :)

Today is also the 3rd week that we have been in our house. Hurray! All of the boxes have been emptied and put in the garage. I have started to organize my craft room, which means that I will be sewing stuff any day now. :)

I do have one thing that I need to complain about now that all the boxes are opened and emptied. Even though we got all of our boxes that were on the manifest I'm pretty sure there was a box that didn't get labeled and is now missing. Grrrrrr!!! The box seems to include mostly bathroom stuff. I'm missing a few bathroom hand towels, a box of pantyliners, some hair product and the little case that came with my suitcase. :( The little case I am the most bummed out about because I was planning on bringing it with us and not packing it. It had our new Sonicare toothbrushes in it (we had an old Sonicare that I had for 8 years at least but replaced it with new ones from Costco). It also had my new flat iron and some other personal care odds and ends: shampoo, toothpaste, flossers, deodorant, etc. I was really bummed out when we first discovered that we didn't have it for our Family Reunion and we were being optimistic that we would find it when we opened all of our boxes. Alas it was not so and now I am sad and irritated. Sad because the items are missing and irritated because I don't want to spend that money again to replace the "big ticket" items that are missing, especially with other "big ticket" items that we are going to have to buy soon.

Drawings

I was looking through papers as I was unpacking and trying to consolidate etc. and I found these three drawings that were done by Reed, Wyatt and myself. I just thought I would share my findings.

Crickets...

I officially hate crickets! They are worse than moths here at our house. We leave the porch light and the light by the garage on when we go out in the late afternoon/evening since it gets so dark here so early and when we get home there are crickets everywhere under the lights.

**Tangent** There is an observatory somewhere close by and so there is a light ordinance in the Tucson area to keep the light "noise" low so they can see the stars. I like seeing the stars too but that also means that there are very few street lights unless you are on a really major road or in a shopping complex parking lot and even then they are really dim yellow lights. So it gets dark early and stays really dark. **End Tangent**

Tonight we came home from the grocery store and there were at least 20 crickets that we could see, and that's just under the light on our driveway. There was also a dead (luckily) locust on our driveway as well. It had to have been a locust because it was a good 20 x's larger than the crickets hanging out under the light. They were at our front door too and probably just as many. So swarms of crickets when I come home not a pleasant experience. We squish them if we can, but tonight we came home prepared. We picked up some bug spray that seemed to work. Hopefully if we keep up the pattern of spraying them they will figure out that hanging out at our lights is a bad thing to do.

The primary reason that I don't like crickets, other than the above grossness, is because there is at least one, which must be huge, that I can hear while I'm trying to sleep at night. One might think that the chirp of the crickets would be soothing since they use that noise in movies and such for peaceful scenes. I personally don't find it soothing at all and when it chirps it makes it even harder for me to fall asleep. So boo to all crickets everywhere!!!

Grrrrrr!!!

The stupid phone/internet was down for most of today and part of yesterday. Grrrr!!! It turns out there was a loose wire near the park. I think it's odd that it affected us because the park is across the main street and down a little way and they (the phone company) didn't seem to know about it until I called. I would have thought that more than one house would have been affected. Oh well, it's back up and working now. Hurray!!!!

Fabric for Baby Bedding

I found this fabric at JoAnn's and thought that it would make a really cute baby room theme. I think there's enough color on it for it to be unisex. Right now I have enough to make a fitted sheet and the bumpers. I was also thinking of making a ruffle as well, but it hasn't come back online for me to try to buy some more. Lame. I was also looking at a really cute monkey fabric that is also not available online anymore either.

**Update** I found this fabric at JoAnn's today (Saturday 10/3) and got enough of it plus the notions I need to make 2 fitted sheets, a bumper and dust ruffle. In fact the fabric is in the dryer even as I type; so now I need to decide which to make first. I'm leaning toward the fitted sheets because those will be the quickest to complete. I'm going to have to modify the pattern because we decided to buy the Ikea mattress along with the crib, it's designed to fit the crib better, but the one we chose is not a thick as a standard crib mattress.

Look at My Belly!!!!

And my hair... (it was doing poofy things before since the hair was longer in front, so I had her make it shorter all over)

Andrew said that I was sticking my belly out in this picture; I'm not he's just silly. This shirt does help make my belly look more round though. :)

I gave the stylist these two pictures to get the length and style. The main difference between their hair and mine is they have finer thinner hair. So it doesn't look exactly the same but I like my new do.

Shelves in the Toilet Room

I posted pictures of the empty house without any comments because there were too many pictures, if you have questions as to what room is what please refer to the earlier post of the Unfinished House.

This picture I did want to say something about. :)

The master bedroom has a separate toilet room with these awesome shelves built right in. I'm still not positive as to what's going to go on these shelves but seeing them reminded me of my sister-in-law Tara and the awesome food storage she has in her master bathroom.

No Box Left Unopened!!!

It's kind of like "No Child Left Behind", the difference is, I've accomplished it!!! Hurray!!! This is not to say all boxes are empty and taken care of nicely, that stage is still to come. :) In fact there is really only one room that is totally "done" and that is the kitchen/dining room.

Okay it's not totally done, I just noticed the box of all our plastic-ware, I'm not really sure where I want all of that to go just yet. Although, Andrew and I were thinking about getting one of those big pot racks to hang over the island and if'n'when we do that all the plastic-ware will go where the pots and pans are currently. So I guess we're as done as we're going to get at this point in time. :)

Now that we have a nice clean area to prepare and cook food I need to plan meals so we will actually have something to prepare.

Empty House Pictures

24 Weeks = 6 Months Pregnant!

This was actually taken last week but with all the moving stuff going on I just didn't have a chance to post. Tomorrow will make 25 weeks. I am standing in the area where the refrigerator goes. It seemed like a good place to take a picture. :)

Just a Quick Update

We got our keys on Tuesday and the movers and everyone else came yesterday so I'm working on finding a spot for all our stuff. The fact of the matter is I am sitting on the floor in our living room posting this comment because even though the desks are put together they are surrounded by boxes. Every room has boxes everywhere.

Funny story from yesterday, after the movers and Andrew left I was here at home eating lunch, I had asked Andrew to pick up one of those microwave meals for me. As I was cooking it in the microwave the thought crossed my mind "I need a fork", so I started opening boxes and came to one that said utensils on it, sounds promising, huh? Too bad the utensils were serving utensils. But I did find two mismatching chopsticks in that box, so I ate my lunch, a chicken breast and veggies, with chopsticks. **By the way I have yet to find the real silverware, though I have high hopes for finding it today. :)**

We Closed Escrow on Our House!!

Yesterday we went to the Title company and signed all our papers for the house. It is technically officially "ours". We still don't get the keys until Tuesday, that's when they record the deed or something like that. We are very excited!! It seemed like such a long time to wait back in July but September finally came, as it always does. :)

For those of you wondering what our address is you will have to email us and ask for it. :)

It's a....

Nope we still don't know what it is, but it's definitely a boy or a girl!

We had our second ultrasound today and it went well. The baby is measuring at exactly my calculated due date December 30th and weighs 1 lb. 4 ozs. The ultrasound technician was really nice and explained what we were seeing and what she was measuring as she was doing it. We got to watch the heart beat and saw all 4 chambers. The stomach and the bladder were both full and there was lots of fluid around the baby, just as it should be. I asked Andrew after it was over if he actually saw what she was pointing out and he said that he was more interested in how the machine works, typical Andrew!

So here are the pictures that we were given. The baby was hanging out sideways with its head on my right side and its feet on my left side.

This is a profile view of the baby.

This is a picture of the baby's feet.

This is a front view of the baby.

Possibly the Last House Update Before We Move In

So today we had our walk-through with the Supervisor and our Realtor. Basically we walked through the house and found cosmetic things that need to be fixed; for example there were a couple of power outlets that had visible gaps between the wall and the face plate. We went through all rooms and outside, luckily there wasn't very much that needed to be done mostly touch ups on the paint. Though they are going to have to regrade our yard since it isn't draining properly. The supervisor mentioned that monsoon season is a good time to buy a house so you can easily figure out the drainage.

One thing that I found interesting is our fuse box is actually outside the house. I'm used to seeing them in the garage and more recently living in apartments having them inside the house in random places.

We have our meeting with the escrow people on Friday (the only thing left we are waiting for is the appraisal on the house) then I will go back on the 9th and walk through again to make sure everything on the list got done. The letter we got says that we will get the keys no sooner than 4pm on the 9th, but the sales lady said that if they get the call earlier that the deed has been recorded they will call us when they know, she said that giving the keys to the new owners is her favorite part of her job.
