Peter had his 18 month check up today and we got some new stats.
Height: 32 1/2" - 55% (It feels like he's grown more than 1 1/4" in three months)
Weight: 22 lbs 15 oz - 10%
Head: 19 1/4" - 75%
I think Peter is warming up to the doctor, finally. He did not cry hysterically the instant the doctor touched him, in fact Peter really started to cry when the doctor left the room. Both the nurse and the doctor mentioned the fact that Peter is a very busy kid, he was wandering all over that exam room trying to figure everything out. He only got 1 shot today and he cried a lot when it happened but it's amazing what a sucker can do to make things all better. :)
Peter officially turned 18 months on June 30th but he was allowed to go to nursery the first Sunday in June. He absolutely loves going to nursery. They get to play with the toys first and Peter will just walk in and start playing and then when it's time to go home he's had enough fun and comes right to whomever is picking him up. It's so much easier to teach the 7 year-olds without Peter there to distract them.
Peter understands a lot more words that he can say but he keeps adding to his vocabulary. Cracker is his favorite word and everything is a cracker especially if it comes in a crinkly package.
A funny cracker story: The other day I had a ziploc bag that had a few different types of crackers in it including a package of graham crackers. Peter was playing with the bag but seemed disinterested in eating any so I put the graham crackers back in the bag and zipped it up and started to put it away. After I did this Peter said, "cracker" in the saddest voice I've ever heard. So I pulled out a graham cracker and gave it to him and that was possibly the happiest "cracker" I've heard.
I forgot to put my wire mesh orange trash can back under my desk after dumping the recycle out of it and Peter has discovered that he can put it on his head and still see. So he will put it on his head and walk around with it on. Sometimes he will take it off and put it on Andrew's or my heads too. He'll just laugh and laugh. It's super cute. I need to remember to get a picture of it.
You can't tell from pictures below but we try to only give Peter his pacifier during naps and bedtime. He is a master of finding things and putting them in his mouth. He is now tall enough to reach things a few inches back from off the kitchen counters. He will also climb on the dinning chairs and sit on the table. I fear it's only a matter of time before he realizes that he can do the same thing to the counters.
I caught Peter lounging on the couch, he looks so comfy
He caught me taking pictures of him, what a cheesy face
He pulled the blankets from his crib to the toddler bed and laid down
The baskets were just sitting there waiting to be played in
Doesn't that look comfy?
Seriously what could be better than sitting in some laundry baskets with a cooler?
