4 Months Old Today

I don't have Peter's 4 month stats because his appointment is next week, but he is definitely a happy healthy growing boy. He rolls over both ways when he wants to I haven't seen him go full circle yet but I'm sure that's not too far off. Peter drools like it's going out of style, so he almost always wears a bib. Which is great because he'll play with it and chew on it and that helps absorb some of the excess drool. Just this week I put him in the jumparoo and he's discovered that it turns and he can turn himself towards the toy that he wants to play with. He has excellent picking up/grabbing control. It's amazing to watch him pick things up that I'm not sure he'll be able to. He also has really strong legs; he will just lay on his back on the ground and kick his legs. He will also kick his legs while he's on his stomach and he does this inch worm thing and he can actually move across his blanket. The most interesting thing about his inch worming is he doesn't use his arms.

No Longer a One Car Family

Last weekend we went out looking for a minivan and found one and bought it! Hurray for having my own car again. :) We got a silver 2006 Kia Sedona and I love it. Originally we test drove a 2008 Sedona because that's what they had out at the lot and it was nice and all that we wanted except for the price tag and we told them so and it turned out that the day before they had traded in a 2006 that was practically identical to the 2008, color included, except for the miles and the price and the tires. Since they had traded it in the day before they hadn't had a chance to detail it yet, so they did it on Monday and delivered it to our house (I liked that better anyways).

It is so much fun to drive and we're getting excited about all the stuff that we can haul around in it. For example Andrew is going to build more planter boxes in our backyard and we can now fit more bricks and supplies without crowding the backseat of our car.

I think Peter likes riding in the van better than riding in the Altima because he's up higher and can see out the windows better. It's a lot easier to put him in and out of the car and it's also a lot easier to feed him and change his diaper when we're out running errands.

Funny story... We back our cars into our driveway and the first time that I parked the van with the Altima in the driveway already I came really close to hitting the solar powered lights we set up.

I mean REALLY close

I stopped here without getting out and looking.

That's crazy close.

Peter's First Easter

This year I did a family Easter basket; we haven't really done Easter baskets in the past but I wanted to make sure that there was one for Peter's first Easter, even though he obviously wasn't all that interested in it. :) In the basket for Peter there was a stuffed monkey, a ball and a cute night light. Andrew got 4 flexible cutting boards and a pair of gardening shears. And I got the basket and chocolate. There was also Spring Oreos and Peeps.

(it's crazy to think that little Peter is 3 months and wearing 6-9 month clothes)

Peter's eyes have gotten lighter and in this picture they look like they're the same shade as Andrew's eyes.

Swinging Peter

There's a great park by our house that my walking group hangs out at after walking. So yesterday I decided to see how Peter likes swinging, since he holds his head up so well. I remembered to put my camera in the diaper bag and got some really cute pictures and a short video too.

**Random Side Note** Andrew weighed him today and he's up to 14 pounds!!

Chewing on his bib
(He drools so much now he has to wear a bib to keep his clothes dry).

"What are you doing Mom?"
(This is definitely my favorite picture).

The funny angle is me trying to get a picture of him smiling
(He won't smile for the camera because he's trying to figure out what it is, darn engineer brain!)

Another cute picture.

That JUST Happened!!!

I've had an allergic nose today so I've had to blow my nose a bunch. I'm sure you're thinking that's TMI... but it's relevant to the video clip below. Peter was happily sitting in his jumparoo and I was sitting at my computer and I had to blow my nose and he thought that it was hilarious and bust up laughing. So I did it again to see if he would laugh some more and lo and behold, he did!! So we got it on video. Funny thing, earlier I blew my nose while he was fussy and it scared him and made him cry.
