Peter folds his arms when we pray. It started out with him just folding his arms during night time prayers but last Sunday we were at church and he folded his arms for prayer during sacrament meeting. Now he even folds his arms for the blessing on the food. It's so cute! It also makes me really realize how much he's paying attention to what we do.
Peter is also really cute about kisses. I will make a kissey face and make the "mmmm" noise and he will lean his head towards my mouth so I can give him a kiss. Sometimes he will grab my face (my nose and mouth) and make a kissey noise and give me a kiss. We were babysitting a friend's daughter tonight and I was giving kisses and Peter leans over and gives the little girl a kiss; she's almost a year old so she didn't even notice. It was super cute though.
Peter doesn't really say much but what he does say is really cute, of course. He says "no, no" and "caa caa" which means cracker. When he says cracker he also does the sign for cracker or at least his version of the sign. He also signs milk for any drink and will also sign banana. He signs baby when I turn on the TV, we have some baby signing movies that he likes to watch. I think he says other things too we just haven't interpreted them yet.
If I try to feed Peter something that he doesn't want he will cover his mouth with his hand and shake his head.
Andrew calls Peter a random action generator because he'll be doing one thing then do a 180 and start doing something completely different and then go back to what he was doing or change directions all over again.
I recently got him some lego-type building blocks and he absolutely LOVES them. He will sit and put them together and then take them apart and build something else. I wish we had gotten him some building blocks sooner because it's so fun to watch him figure out how the blocks go together.
Peter is a little monkey. He climbs up on everything. He loves to climb up into his stroller and sit there and try to buckle himself in. The other day he was playing with the chairs in the dining room and climbed up and was sitting on top of the table. Thank goodness he hasn't discovered how to climb out of his crib yet.
Peter loves shoes. He likes to try and put his shoes on his feet and other times he just likes to carry them around. The other day he was playing with our shoes and tried putting one of my sandals into one of my shoes. He will also put random other things in shoes. I have found crackers in his shoes and he pulled a piece of paper out of one of Andrew's shoes. We know that we need to double check our shoes before we put them on. He found my wedding shoes the other day and decided that they were toys he carried them around with him and even tried to put them in the bath that night. He got really upset at me when I wouldn't let him put the shoes in the bathtub.
Peter loves to be outside and will cry if we have to bring him inside. He knows that if he's wearing shoes he gets to go outside and goes to the front door after we put his shoes on. He walks around the backyard while Andrew's out there tending our little garden. He even picked a strawberry (who knows if it was ripe or not) and ate the whole thing. Later I saw him chewing on something and told him to give it to me. So little by little he pulled out the green top of the strawberry and put it in my hand.
It wouldn't be a proper post without some pictures so here they are:
He likes to play with those baskets
Being a goof ball while eating dinner
He climbed up onto Daddy's lap and just gave up
Then he got more comfortable
He likes to make faces for the camera
I sat and waited and actually got a cute face
