Gila Valley Temple

On Friday May 7th we went to the Gila Valley Temple open house out in Thatcher, AZ. We had decided a little late that we were going to go on that date so the only openings were at 9:30 or 9:45am. We figured we'd give ourselves a little time and go to the 9:45 slot. It's a 2.5 hour drive for us to get there and I just have to say there's not much between Tucson and the Gila Valley area. I'm really glad that we "decided" to go when we did because there was very little traffic on the way to and from and also we were one of the first tours to go through so it seemed like we had a little more time to look at everything. The temple is really small but beautiful.

The front of the temple

The tent is where the workers sit and put on the booties to protect the carpet

The side view.

Peter thought that the garden was a place to put our water bottles & his cup

You can kind of tell that I'm pregnant... I'm mostly still in the "looks fat" stage though

He's started to run!

He's actually quite good a going down stairs.

Just looking cute! He almost has hair!

There are two funny stories from this trip the first one is Andrew didn't want to ask a stranger to take our picture as a family in front of the temple so we don't have a family picture. He also said you either just get the people and a wall of the building you're taking the picture in front of or you get tiny people in front of a large building. Oh well. :) The other story is when they put the booties on Peter's feet he wasn't so sure what to think about them. So the first step he took was a large over exaggerated step as if that would do something about the weird thing on his feet.

Pump It Up!!!

There's a place in Tucson called Pump It Up and one of my friends (thanks Megan!) organized a little play date there on Monday. I had heard of it before but never got around to going, mostly because Peter was too young to appreciate it. That is definitely not the case now! I had no idea that he would have so much fun. I put him down and he just took off, he's still a little young for it because I felt the need to follow him around to make sure he didn't get hurt. One of his favorite things to do was to fall on the blue mat in the first picture and also to try to climb up the slide. By the end of our time there Peter was climbing up the stairs to the slide all by himself. There's a smaller slide in one of the other inflatable play areas and he climbed all the way up and back down all by himself. It was a bit tiring for me being pregnant but luckily one of the other moms there was willing to play with/watch Peter inside the bouncy areas for me (thanks Danielle!). This is definitely something that we're going to have to do again.

Peter and I went down the slide.

Having fun on the bouncy floor with a huge ball!

Apparently EVERYTHING requires a taste test.

Peter doing his own thing.

"Wonderful Wednesday" Craft Night

My friend Amanda and I are putting together a Super Saturday style craft night at her house. It should be a lot of fun! Here's a link to her blog with all the details.

We/she made my FHE board to be the example for the night and it turned out AWESOME!!!. I chose the green because one of these days I am going to paint my kitchen that color.
