Peter and the Pumpkin Patch

While we were up in Washington my parents and I took Peter to a pumpkin patch. It was kind of small and nobody was there but Peter didn't seem to mind, he probably didn't really know what the purpose was. But he really seemed to like looking at the pumpkins. There were even a few cows there that he seemed interested in. We got Peter a cute little pumpkin and a large one to carve (we never did end up carving it though). Sad, I was totally going to carve the Pi symbol onto the pumpkin. We also got him a butternut squash that we baked and pureed for him. YUM!

I did the pictures in collages because there were too many that I wanted to share, you can click on them and see larger images.

Peter & the Pumpkins

Halloween

Peter and I were in Washington for Halloween this year. I made Peter a dragon costume and I think it turned out really well. Although I wish the pattern had included the finished measurements because I'm pretty sure Peter will be able to wear the same costume next year too! :)

Peter and I went trick or treating with my friend Kim and her family. Her kids' & Peter's costumes happened to have the same theme: Zander was a Frog Prince, Baylie and Carlie were Flower Fairies and Peter was a Dragon. After trick or treating we went to my Mom's church Halloween party. It was almost over when we got there but there was still lots of yummy food so we didn't mind too much.

Reed, Audrey & Bailey got there a little after we did and they had themed costumes too! It was awesome! Reed was Mario, Audrey was Princess Peach and Bailey was Toadstool. The costumes were Bailey's idea and Audrey's handiwork. I seriously think that they were the best Mario, Peach & Toad EVER! I loved Bailey's explanation for her being Toadstool instead of a girl toadstool. She said that the girl toadstool is only around some of the time but Toadstool is around Mario & Peach most often. So it just made sense to be true to the game. If you're going to do a theme you've got to get it right. :)

Oh Boy!!!

Peter can't walk & doesn't like to crawl "properly" but he can climb. I've been watching him try to figure it out the past few days and yesterday I found him climbing on his stroller. I believe that he was trying to get into the seat to play with the buckles.

"Oh no, she sees me!"

"It's alright Mom, I'm having fun."

Today he decided to keep up with the whole climbing thing. Though this time he figured out how to climb down too.

"See Mom, I did it again."

"I can get down all by myself."

"I just need to get my hand on the ground."

"Check me out!"

"Now I'm going to get all the way down."

"This is how I sit down. I really got tired of falling over."

"And now to get what I really want."

"I'm coming to get the camera!!"

This afternoon Peter decided to try out his climbing skills on something other than the stroller. It didn't work out quite as well. Although both his feet are off the ground.

"Man, chin-ups are HARD!"
